- Richer connectivity and interaction with disparate data sources. The new Business Connectivity Services (BCS) enables interaction with data, whether that data is in SharePoint, other back-end applications or disparate databases. Once in SharePoint, you can take any of this data offline into Office applications like Word, Excel or Visio.
- Streamlined SharePoint administration. If you've administered 2007, you'll appreciate a much more intuitive user interface.
- Improved scalability of lists and libraries, which was a constraint in previous versions.
